Kansas woman, 4 children hospitalized after I-70 crash

WABAUNSEE COUNTY —Five people were injured in an accident just before 5p.m. Sunday in Wabaunsee County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Ford F 150 driven by Cornellia D. Watson, 39, Topeka, was eastbound on Interstate 70 near the Paxico rest area. The pickup traveled off the road to the right. The driver overcorrected and the vehicle crossed the eastbound lanes and struck the limestone embankment in the median.

EMS transported Watson and three children including a 16-year-old girl; a 14-year-old boy; 11-year-old girl and a 2-year-old girl to a Topeka Hospital. The driver was not wearing a seat belt and the 2-year-old was seated on the lap of front seat passenger, according to the KHP.
