In an abundance of caution, Harvesters’ distribution center in Topeka will be closed beginning today, Thursday, April 16, through at least Saturday, April 18, due to possible exposure to COVID-19.
A Harvesters staff member has symptoms similar to the virus and is awaiting test results. That staff member and all other staff at the facility will be self-quarantining at home until results are received. We know this closure will have an impact on many of you, as well as community members who are in need of assistance. This closure will allow Harvesters time to fully clean and sanitize the facility in Topeka and arrange details for resuming our operations as quickly as we can. How may this affect you?
- All mobile distributions scheduled for April 16-18 will be cancelled. We will not be able to reschedule these distributions at this time.
- All deliveries and pickups scheduled for April 16-18 will be cancelled. We can hold orders at our facilities and work with you to reschedule these deliveries or pickups for a later date. This includes Agency Orders, BackSnack, CSFP, and TEFAP orders. Please contact Customer Care at customercare@harvesters.org or call 1-877-653-9519.
- If you have a delivery or pickup scheduled for April 20 or later, we do not expect an impact to your delivery or pickup appointment at this time. We will notify you as soon as we can, if this changes.
Harvesters hopes to re-open by Monday, April 20, with limited staff and operations. We will let you know if that changes and will continue to communicate any updates or agency impact as our plans develop.
