Riley County is working with the City of Manhattan, the Emergency Operations Center and the MHK COVID-19 Critical Task Force to stand up an alternate care site, said Health Director Julie Gibbs. It would serve "individuals needing skilled nursing care and those in need of isolation from their living situation.

Gibbs said the facility will include a respiratory clinic and swabbing station. We are hopeful this will be ready in the next few weeks.

Currently there have been 20 positive cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in Riley County.

Gibbs stated if you have questions call rileycountycovid-19@gmail.com. "If anyone is experiencing symptoms please call the screening line at 785-323-6400. We have a health care professional available to answer those calls every day from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
