A lack of activity in the community is a good thing. That observation was made by the Assistant Director of the Riley County Police Department, Kurt Moldrup, on Saturday. "It's amazing the lack of activity we see in the community. Again, that's a good sign, that's the goal of this is to stay at home and not have everybody out and about.
Moldrup spoke during a Riley County briefing. "I think we're seeing more people get used to the concept of social distancing, staying six feet apart, which I think we continue to see improvement in breaking those habits like hugging, shaking hands, of people standing apart as they're out exercising continuing to keep that distance."
Moldrup noted that in the stores he is also seeing less group with one person per shopping cart. "I think we're starting to create new habits that way." Moldrup added that will flatten the coronavirus curve, and that needs to continue.
The State of Kansas is under a stay at home order due to COVID-19.
