Pharmacy adjustments are made on Fort Riley

Posted Mar 28, 2020 2:23 PM

To reduce the potential exposure of COVID-19 to patients and staff, while continuing to meet the prescription needs of customers, Irwin Army Community Hospital has adjusted its pharmacy services. Remember, as of March 23, staff and patients can only enter the hospital through the Main Entrance (by the flag pole) access point. All staff and patients will be screened before entry into the facility.

PX Pharmacy

ï‚· The PX Pharmacy will suspend services and consolidate outpatient prescriptions to the Main IACH Pharmacy. New orders or refills will only be filled at the Main IACH Pharmacy as of Friday, March 27. The last available day to pick up previously ordered prescriptions at the PX Pharmacy is Wednesday, April 1, before 5 p.m.

4 Hour Drop off to Pick up Time

ï‚· The pharmacies at IACH and Farrelly Health Clinic will have a four-hour period between drop off and pick up for all non-urgent prescriptions, including refills and handwritten scripts. Orders submitted before 1 p.m. will be available for pick-up same day after 4 p.m.   Orders submitted after 1 p.m. will be available the next business day after 10 a.m.

Curbside Pickup

ï‚· Beginning Monday, March 30, the Main IACH Pharmacy will provide curbside drop off and pick-up service 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. for all non-urgent prescriptions, including refills and handwritten scripts. Customers will drive into the IACH parking garage on the ground floor where hospital staff will be ready to assist them.

Urgent Prescription

ï‚· Only a medical provider can deem a medication as urgent. Patients should request their provider to contact the pharmacy at (785) 239-3627, option 3, to expedite filling of an urgent medication for an acute condition. Patients who are waiting for an urgent medication must remain six feet apart from others or in their vehicles for curbside pick-up.
