UPDATE:

Due to the recent school closings and out of an abundance of caution for force health protection, Fort Riley will temporarily adjust the following services beginning Monday 16 MARCH 2020.

- CDCs: Open to mission essential personnel only.- All child and youth program services temporarily cancelled.- Spare Time Entertainment: Temporarily Closed Warrior Zone: Temporarily Closed.- All Gyms and Pools temporarily closed.

All other Fort Riley services and facilities remain open. These decisions are not taken lightly and we apologize for any inconvenience. As conditions change, we will re- evaluate these measures and implement appropriate adjustments.

Fort Riley will make adjustments to installation access procedures and on-post venues due to concerns about the corona virus. Major General John Kolasheski issued a statement saying that includes limiting large gatherings, canceling some events, conducting multiple iterations of others, maximizing virtual events such as town halls and temporarily closing select MWR facilities including fitness centers.

Kolasheski said units are staffing "cleaning teams" to inspect and clean common areas. Mandatory hand washing stations will be established in high traffic areas such as child development centers, commissary, PX, dining facilities and select administration buildings.

Kolasheski said there are measures each person can take to minimize any potential spread of the virus locally. These include frequent hand washing, avoiding close contact ( within 6 feet , not shaking hands, covering coughs and sneezes, cleaning frequently touched objects and surfaces, staying home when feeling ill, and avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and / or mouth.

If you or any family member feels sick call 1-800-TRICARE to consult with medical professionals about your symptoms and seek advice on treatment .

Kolasheski said as conditions change he will reevaluate these measures and implement appropriate adjustments.
