MANHATTAN, KS (July 26, 2021) - Manko Window Systems Inc. was named Monday by the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce as its 2021 Cornerstone Award winner. Manko will be recognized at the 2nd Annual Business Awards Luncheon on Aug. 3.
The Cornerstone Award is generally considered a lifetime achievement award for a business that has had significant impact on the community. The 2020 winner was BHS Construction. Criteria was established for this award and nominations were taken. A committee evaluated each nomination and decided a finalist based on the business that most matched the criteria.
“We certainly appreciate the nomination and are humbled to have been chosen as the recipient,” said Gary Jones, Manko President. “We’ve enjoyed being members of the Chamber and see the value it provides local businesses. We are very thankful for the support of the Manhattan community over the past 32 years,”.
Manko is a manufacturer and fabricator of aluminum and glass products. They have three locations (Manhattan, Denver, and Des Moines) distributing products to 28 states in the Midwest. Their focus is primarily the commercial industry, providing framing and glass products for the exterior and interior of commercial buildings. Manko works closely with architectural firms in design, then ultimately sells its products to glazing contractors who provide further fabrication and installation for the general contractor.
In the greater Manhattan area, Manko provides commercial installation through its contract glazing divisions, and provides vinyl windows and full-service residential retail glass service through Interstate Glass. Manko has been in business for 32 years, has over 400 employees, and is continually looking to grow its customer relationships and product offerings.
In addition to honoring Manko Window Systems, Inc., the Chamber will be announcing winners in four other business categories including Small Business of the Year, Entrepreneurial Spirit Award, Tourism Development Award and Minority/Woman Owned Business Award at the luncheon.
