Postponements and Cancellations

Due to concern about ice accumulations, USD 475 will operate on a two-hour delayed schedule on Thursday. Buses will operate on a two-hour delayed schedule. Breakfast will not be served and Early Childhood morning classes will be cancelled.

According to USD 475 Chief Operations Officer, David Wild, District crews began salting school parking lots and walks shortly before 4 a.m. Bitter cold created ice in areas where water pools on parking lots and sidewalks. 

FORT RILEY

Fort Riley will operate on a two-hour delay. Irwin Army Community Hospital will continue normal inpatient and outpatient services. Patients who cannot safely make it to their appointment should call 785-239-3627.

Child Development Centers and the Fort Riley School Age Centers will open at 7 a.m. Parent Central opens at 9 a.m., Part-Day Preschool AM session is cancelled. Warrior Zone opens at 9 a.m. All other Morale, Welfare and Recreation facilities will conduct normal operating hours.

Craig Fitness Center and Whitside Fitness Center will remain on 24-hour schedule for preregistered patrons using ID cards. Remaining fitness centers open at 7 a.m.

Other Cancellations and Postponements

USD 383 Manhattan / Ogden inclement weather stops will be in effect for morning routes. There is no school for all elementary schools in the district but that was already planned.  That is not weather related.

USD 481 Hope / White City schools will be closed.

USD 323 Rock Creek opens two hours late

USD 320 Wamego delayed two hours

USD 384 Blue Valley opens two hours late

USD 417 Morris County ( Council Grove ) closed 

USD 487 Herington closed

USD 501 Topeka Public schools closed

The Geary County Senior Center will be closed  Thursday and all  its events and activities have been cancelled due to the winter weather conditions.

Neighborhood Learning Center is opening late at 8 a.m.
