
LAFAYETTE COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just before 1p.m. Thursday in Lafayette County, Missouri.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2011 Jeep Wrangler driven by Jackie J. Hess, 35, Manhattan, was eastbound on Interstate 70 just east of Bates City.
The left rear tire of the Jeep blew out. The vehicle left the road and struck a guardrail.
SNI Valley Fire transported a 5-year-old boy in the Jeep to Centerpoint Medical Center for treatment.
Hess was not injured. Both were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.
