The Little Apple Optimist Club's Manhattan high School student of the month is Macy Hendricks, senior at MHS and daughter of Chuck and Kaye Hendricks of Manhattan.
Macy is a member of the Student Council at Manhattan High School and is serving as senior class president. She is also a member of National Honor Society and has been a member of the cross country team for 4 years and softball team competing for 3 years.
She is actively involved in community service including teaching English and workshop leadership for middle school students in a Brno City Camp in the Czech Republic held in the summer of 2018 and she helped in building houses in Puerto Penasco Mexico with the group 1 Mission.
Macy is also a certified nursing assistant receiving her training at Manhattan Area Technical College.
The Little Apple Optimist Club's student of the month is designed to recognize Manhattan High seniors that make a difference in their community through volunteerism and leadership activities that have a positive impact on MHS and /or the Manhattan community. The goal of the program is to inspire and encourage youth to get involved in their community in an effort to benefit others.
