Fort Riley's Christkindl market is Saturday

Fort Riley's annual christkindl market is Saturday ( Dec. 7 ) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Riley's Community Center.


The event, which is in its eleventh year, will feature more than 40 vendors selling handmade items, holiday decor and gifts. There will be activities for families for a fee, including sugar cookie decorating, craft making, pictures with the Grinch and from 10 a.m. until noon pictures with Santa. Bratwurst and chips will be available for purchase.


This event is open to the public. Visitors who do not have a Department of Defense ID card can get a pass at the Visitor Control Center near the Henry Gate, Exit 301 off of I-70. Under the Trusted Traveler program, DOD ID cardholders may escort up to seven guests in a vehicle who do not have a DOD ID card. Only the Trusted Traveler will need to show an ID.
