The Mayor's Spirit of the Holidays Lighted Parade will be Friday, Dec. 6 at 5:30 p.m. This annual event will begin at Manhattan Town Center and travel through downtown Manhattan on Poyntz Ave. It will end in Aggieville's Triangle Park for the annual lighting of the Mayor's Christmas Tree at 7 p.m.

Donations for the Flint Hills Breadbasket -- both non-perishable food and monetary donations will be accepted along the parade route. You can bring food donations to the parade and watch for volunteers with shopping carts collecting both food and money.

The parade is one of Manhattan's largest of the year, with 65 entries last year. All entries must be lighted. The decorations in Triangle Park will be glowing with specially designed shooting stars along with hundreds of Christmas lights.

The lighting of the Mayor's Tree will begin following the Mayor's parade at 7 p.m. on Dec. 6th.
