Janice Earlene Harold passed away on February 19, 2023, at the age of 81. She was born in Dwight Kansas on August 14, 1941, to Howard Glessner and Augusta Nickoley-Glessner.
She was a 1959 graduate of Dwight High School and went on to graduate from Brown Mackie College.
After graduation, she went to work for Bailey Moving & Storage, where she met her husband Ron who she married on November 24, 1962, and worked with him until her retirement in 2011.
She enjoyed working in her yard, woodworking, fishing, and boating on her pontoon, and loved her dogs. She could play the trumpet, the guitar, and the harmonica, and even played in the bell choir at church. Jan could play softball with the best and she honored and celebrated her Cherokee heritage.
Survivors include her husband of 60+ years, Ron, and her two daughters, Rhonda Taylor and her husband Bryan of Saint Joseph, MO, and Renee Vancamp and her partner Sheila Smith of Stevensville, MT.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Mt Calvary Lutheran Church 17535 Say Road, Wamego KS. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. up until service time. The family invites everyone for a light lunch & refreshments after the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt Calvary Lutheran Church in Wamego or Lake Elbo Club in Manhattan. Contributions may be left in care of Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home 4370 Salzer Road, Wamego KS 66547.
