RILEY COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas felon for alleged use of counterfeit money.

Just after 3p.m. Tuesday, police arrested 33-year-old Jamie Berges of St. George after being transported from the Pottawatomie County Jail for her Riley County District Court warrant for failure to appear, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report.

The warrant stems from a February 13, 2020, incident where it was reported Berges attempted to purchase cigarettes with fake money. Berges remains confined in the Riley County Jail with a total bond of $40,000.  She has previous convictions for drugs and theft, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
