Nine new positive cases of COVID-19 were reported by Pottawatomie County officials on Wednesday. There are now 14 active cases in the county, with test results pending for 17 people. A total of 118 people have recovered.
Also on Wednesday, the Pottawatomie County Commission approved a new health order exempting private schools from the executive order issued by Governor Kelly which had mandated that procedures for K-12 schools to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 could be made by each public school board. Private schools including church affiliated schools had not been addressed in the Governor's Order. The order does include mitigation guidelines recommended and encouraged by Pottawatomie County.
