Arden K. Malsbury, 85, of Junction City, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Cremation will take place followed by an inurnment at Baker Cemetery, Burr Oak, Kansas. Both he and his wife will be laid to rest together.
Born March 16, 1938, in Mankato, Kansas to Emory Dale Malsbury and Virginia Ruth St. Claire.
Arden graduated from Cawker City High in 1956. He then joined the U.S. Navy where he served a four-year contract aboard two submarines: U.S.S. Charr and U.S.S. Bugara.
While serving in the U.S. Navy, he married his wife Doris in Long Beach, California on July 5, 1958. They were happily married for 64 years and were blessed with their three children: Bernita, Grady, and Eric.
Upon discharge, he went to work for the Daily Pilot newspaper in the product department. Arden also attended Orange County Community College and Santa Anna City College for electronics and computer programming on the IBM 3BA.
He is survived by his three children, Bernita (Gary) Watts of Warrensburg, Missouri, Grady Malsbury of Junction City, Kansas, and Eric (Carmen) Malsbury of Lexington, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Kimberly Watts of Kansas City, Missouri, Kelly (Corey) Ryan of Augusta, Kansas, Kristina (Thomas) Klug of Overland Park, Kansas, Erica Jeffreys of Clayton, North Carolina; four great-grandchildren, Kip, Jackson, Lily, Kerri and a fifth on the way, Olsen (Ollie); and one brother, John (Lucy) Thomas of Valley Falls, Kansas.
He was preceded by his loving wife, Doris, his parents, and four siblings.
