Meadowlark Parkinson's Program will host a free watch party program for Veterans titled "Veterans and PD: Mobility and Driving Safety. It is scheduled on Tuesday, June 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Meadowlark Event Center, 2121 Meadowlark Rd., Manhattan. Call 785-323-3899 for reservations. Lunch will be provided.
There will be presentations from Parkinson's disease experts about common PD-related mobility challenges and the importance of recognizing managing fall risk and driving safety. They will explore mobility aids and home modifications, including eligibility and how to access those services through the VA Healthcare System.
The speakers will include Dr. Ergun Uc, MD with the Iowa City VA Health Care System and Hillari S. Olson, DPT, and Derek Kent, OTR/L from the Minneapolis VA Health System.
