Mary Elizabeth Ryan (Schneider), 100, of Solomon, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022 in Salina, KS.
She was born September 12, 1922 on a farm west of Salina, to John J. and Lucy Grace (Seramur) Schneider. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School and received her teaching degree from Marymount College. She taught in Grainfield, Kansas, and then Salina Sacred Heart prior to getting married and starting her family. She married Francis Ryan on December 29, 1954 in Salina, KS and they had 36 years together until his death in 1990.
Mary was active in her church where she taught religion, served on the Solomon Altar Society, lectured and led the rosary. She served on the Solomon USD #393 Board of Education, as well as the Solomon
State Bank Board. She played cards for the 51 Club, Sunflower Shufflers and Y&O Club, as well served as a 4-H food leader for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother to seven, grandmother to twenty-one
and great-grandma to seven. The month prior the family was able to celebrate her 100 th birthday which she truly enjoyed.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Francis, five siblings, Frances Schneider, John Schneider, Sister Monica Schneider, Lucy McCann and Sister Lucy Schneider. She is survived by her children, Joe
Ryan (Kym), Margaret Shaver (Rick), Pat Ryan (Marcia), Lucy Alexander (John), Jim Ryan (Lisa), Jane Oeser (Jon), and Tom Ryan, and her grandchildren, Ben, Nick and Meaghan Ryan, Jessica Ward, Lauren,
Drew and Seth Shaver, Elizabeth, Luke and Kyle Ryan, David, Ryan and Lucy Alexander, Michael, Janae, Devin, Emily and Peyton Ryan, Lawson, Lexi and Lauren Oeser and seven great-grandchildren, MJ Ward,
Jayce and Levi Alexander, Logan, Kray and Landyn Kirmer, and Elena Ryan.

Visitation will be Monday, October 24, 2022 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Parish in Solomon, with the rosary beginning at 7:00 p .m.. Services will be Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 10:00
a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Parish in Solomon. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Solomon.  A reception will follow at the Immaculate Conception Parish Center in Solomon. Memorials may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph, PO Box 279, Concordia, KS 66901.

The family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale Salina Fairdale and Salina Kindred Hospice for the loving care they gave our Miss Mary, as she was so kindly called. They were our angels.
