Lennie Blixt of Chapman passed away Friday February 9th, 2024 at Ascension Via Christi-Manhattan.
Lennie was born January 11, 1949, in Arnold Nebraska, the son of Manfred and Ildie (Wheeler) Blixt.On February 16, 1979, Lennie married Carole Empson in Abilene, Kansas. They made their home in the Chapman community. Lennie graduated from Arnold High School in 1967 and he then joined the United States Army and served in Vietnam. After his time in the Army Lennie worked at Blixt Construction with his brothers and sister. Later in life Lennie was a civil service plumber at Ft. Riley before his retirement. Lennie was a member of the Chapman American Legion post.
Lennie is survived by his wife Carole of the home, his daughter Jennifer Wadeson and her husband Scott of Junction City, Kansas, his granddaughters Shelbi Mathis of San Diego, California and Kylie Merritt of Tucson, Arizona and his brothers Lyle (Janie) and LeRoy (Tina) Blixt of Chapman and his sister Lydia Blixt of Emporia, KS.Lennie was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Larry and Leon Blixt, sister Lila Kitch and his daughter Georgi Blixt.
A memorial service will be held March 3 at 2:00 p.m. at the Londeen-Overlease Funeral Chapel 206 W. 5th Chapman with Pastor Stan Norman. The family suggests memorials be made to the Chapman American Legion and may be sent in care of the Londeen-Overlease Funeral Chapel PO Box 411 Chapman, KS 67431.
