The Manhattan City Commission has approved the Community Support Funds Advisory Board's (CSFAB) recommendations for the 2026 funding allocations, focusing on enhancing social services and alcohol-related programs. In 2026, a total of $557,500 will be distributed across 18 local social services agencies helping individuals and families across Manhattan.

In addition, $550,000 will be distributed across 15 local agencies from the special alcohol fund (monies distributed by the State of Kansas from liquor by the drink taxes to be used for alcohol and drug abuse prevention, education, detoxification, and intervention).

Annually, the advisory board accepts applications from local agencies, deliberates, and makes recommendations to the City Commission on the use and distribution of the two funds.
