WABAUNSEE COUNTY—A fire in rural Wabaunsee County is under control, according to the Sheriff's Department.
The fire had reached Old K-4 Road and prompted authorities to begin evacuation of residents near Lake Wabaunsee.
Residents did not have to evacuate but emergency management officials asked those in the area to stay prepared as fire crews monitored hot spots early Tuesday in gusty winds.
