Manhattan officials have announced that the T. Russell Reitz Animal Shelter will be participating in the national Clear the Shelters pet adoption drive in August and September to help find loving homes for animals in need. Reduced adoption fees will be available during weekends starting August 26.“
In 2020, 40 pets were adopted as part of the Clear the Shelters event,” said Parks and Recreation Director Eddie Eastes. “This year, the dates are being extended with the hope of finding homes for even more animals.”
Clear the Shelter hours are 1:00 – 5:00 PM on Sept. 2-4 and Sept. 9-11. Reduced adoption fees for the dates above will be: - Cats: $25 - Kittens: $75 - Dogs: $50 - Puppies: TBD (price based on age and breed) - Rodents/Exotics: $10
