Michael Leroy Swaim, Sr, 79, of Morganville, KS died Tuesday, April 25th, at the Good Shepherd Hospice House, in Manhattan. He worked with the Clay Center Housing Authority in the maintenance and repair department.
Michael was born in Junction City, on November 22, 1943, the son of the late Lillian Loraine (Anderson) and Clyde O. Swaim. He was joined in marriage to Betty Jean Knox on June 10, 1963 in Salina. He graduated from high school in Herlong, Nevada, and was a veteran, serving in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
Michael is survived by three sons Michael L. (Christine) Swaim, of Clay Center, KS; Lenny (Melissa) Swaim of McPherson; Dennis Swaim of Washington, Kansas. Also surviving are two brothers, Clyde Swaim, of Henderson, NV; Dennis R. Swaim, of Salina; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Michael is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty, and his second wife, Margaret Long Swaim.
A private family inurnment will be at a later date, the family suggests memorials to the Meadowlark Hospice, 709 Liberty, Clay Center, Kansas.
