There was a noticeable drop in bad behavior during the recent Fake Patty's Day celebrations in Manhattan. That was a message from RCPD Director Brian Peete to the Manhattan City Commission.
He did report that there were 503 calls for service which was above the five year average of 435. Citations were at about the five year average. Transporting an open container was the most cited. One approach adopted by authorities involved keeping people moving.
Authorities from Lawrence, Emporia, KSU, AlcoholBeverage Control and the Kansas Highway patrol provided law enforcement help during the Fake Patty's Day time period.
