Prepare for heavy traffic in Manhattan Friday

Posted Sep 12, 2024 11:37 PM

Manhattan officials say that they anticipate heavy rush hour traffic on Friday, in and around the entire city, due to the K-State football game that starts at 7 p.m. Gameday traffic is expected to start congesting the roadways around noon and the congestion will remain until well after the game is over late into the night.

With parking lots near the stadium opening at 2 p.m., arterial roadways into and out of Manhattan are expected to be at full capacity. The City is asking drivers not associated with the game to seek alternate routes that avoid the area of Kimball, College, and North Manhattan avenues. The City also encourages drivers to complete their trips earlier in the day, if possible.
