EllaMae Argo

EllaMae Argo, age 88, of Marysville, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022, at Community Memorial Health Care in Marysville.

EllaMae was born May 5, 1934, in Forest City, Iowa to Carl and Daisy W. (Weaver) Prescott.  After high school she went on to study nursing at Iowa Lutheran Hospital and became a Registered Nurse. She began her nursing career at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.  While there she attended Omaha Bible Institute where she met her future husband Don.  They were married on June 11, 1956, at Forest City, Iowa.  After Don completed Medical School he spent a short term in the US Army, EllaMae and Don then moved to Marysville in 1965, where they raised there seven children.

EllaMae was very active in child evangelism and enjoyed working with the AWANA program with the Berean Church.  EllaMae and Don were instrumental in building both Victory Baptist Church and the Berean Church.  She also enjoyed cross stitch, spending many hours making quilt blocks for others who made the quilts.  She loved her family and worked to ensure each of them knew her Lord.

Survivors include her husband Don, their seven children: Dr. Tanya (Dr. Chris Striebich) Argo of Denver, Colorado, Kathy (David) Totten of Marysville, Tim (Shannon) Argo of Rochester, Minnesota, Matt (Christy) Argo of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Mike (Marsha) Argo of Clay Center, Cheryl (Roy) Hanschu of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Jon (Mindy) Argo of Bremen, a sister Dorothy (Arnie) Karch of Bozeman, Montana, thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Preceding EllaMae in death were her parents, a sister Frances Prescott, a brother John Prescott and a great grandson Beckett Totten.

Viewing is from noon to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, with visitation between 6:30 and 8:00 p.m. at Christie-Anderes Funeral Home in Waterville.

Funeral services are at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Winifred Baptist Church in Winifred with Mr. Aaron Gee officiating.  Linda Argo and Ruth Ann Gee will play piano and organ.  A duet of Kathleen Fincham and Rachel Tegtmeier will sing the “23rd Psalm” and “Jesus Promised Me A House Over There”.  Casket Bearers will be her grandsons: Dereck Totten, Devin Argo, Shaestian Argo, Steven Argo, Cameron Argo, Severy Argo, Sayiant Argo and Aiden Argo.  Honorary Bearers will be her granddaughters: Leah Lee, Dana Fairchild, Carolyn Argo, Kaitlyn Argo and Delaney Argo.  Burial will be at the Marysville City Cemetery in Marysville.
