Joanne “Joni” Phipps, 82, of Manhattan, Kansas passed away January 30,2024 at Homestead Assisted Living. She was an interior decorator educated at Mankato State University. She also graduated from Crum’s Beauty College in Manhattan.
Joni was born in Bricelyn, Minnesota on January 10, 1942, being raised by her loving grandparents. She was the wife of Harris Phipps. They enjoyed 46 years together prior to his death in 2021. Before settling in Manhattan, they had lived in Madison, Wisconsin and Omaha, Nebraska.
Harris was the love of her life. Her faith in Christ Jesus as her Savior, was a big part of her everyday life. As she grew in her walk with Christ, she considered to live is Christ and to die in gain.
Her church and her friends were her family. She was known as a prayer warrior. She loved her career in interior design which spilled into her home life as well as her time spent with clients and friends. If you have not noticed, pink was her absolute favorite color.
Joni is survived by her daughter, granddaughter, and grandson.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. and funeral service at 7 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2024 at Irvin Parkview Funeral Home.
