RILEY COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a pair of computer crimes in Manhattan.
Just before 7a.m. Tuesday, officers filed a report of giving a worthless check and computer crimes in the 12000 block of Madison Road in Riley, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report.
Kansas State Bank reported a known subject passed fraudulent checks on three separate occasions. Total loss associated with this report is $3,037.
Just after noon Thursday police arrested 28-year-old Michael Steere of Manhattan in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road. Steere is being held on a $6,000 bond on requested charges of identity theft and computer unlawful acts, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report.
