The City of Manhattan announced that Anderson Avenue will be closed between 14th and 17th streets for a minimum of 2 hours, starting at 9 a.m. today (June 16), so that City crews can disassemble and remove a pedestrian crossing signal that no longer works.During this closure, the official detour for Anderson will be south on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to Poyntz Avenue, then back to Anderson on 14th Street.
The City expects the two inside lanes of Anderson to reopen by noon and will post an update if there are any delays. The two outside lanes will remain closed for at least three more days so crews can finish removing the access ramps.
