Teresa Rae Wilson, age 74, of Manhattan, died January 9, 2024, at Ascension Via Christi Hospital as the result of a fall.
She was born October 23, 1949, in Lyons, Kansas, the daughter of George and Ruth (Boyle) Root, and moved to Manhattan in 1984.
Teresa graduated from Lyons High School and from beauty school in Great Bend.
On December 6, 1969, in Lyons, Kansas, she was married to Michael L. Wilson.
Teresa was a homemaker and took great care of her family, and especially was a loving and doting grandmother. She was also the neighborhood mom to all the children on the neighborhood.
She enjoyed cooking and sewing and collected angels.
Survivors include her husband Michael of the home; two daughters: Tamira Moran and her husband Chris of Manhattan, and Melissa Pine and her husband Jeremy of Valparaiso, IN; two brothers: Nathan Root of Lyons, KS, and Stephen Root of McPherson, KS; and five grandsons: Michael David, Jason Dale and Daniel Lynn Moran, and Pierceton Joseph and Nathaniel George Pine.
A Prayer Service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, January 18th, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends following the Prayer Service until 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
The Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, KS 66502, is assisting the family with arrangements.
