Dine out for KONZA United Way June 11-20

MANHATTAN — The Konza United Way is excited to launch Manhattan's inaugural Restaurant Week Experience June 11-20.

"The pandemic has had a clear impact on the Manhattan economy, and particularly on individuals and families who were already struggling to make ends meet," said Tara Claussen, CEO of the Konza United Way. "The Konza United Way's Restaurant Week is an opportunity for the entire community to mobilize the power of caring to support those in need while also helping our dynamic restaurant community rebound from the pandemic."

The purpose of Restaurant Week is to highlight Manhattan's unique and diverse culinary experiences and educate the community about the Konza United Way's impact on programs affecting education, financial literacy, and health. Diners who participate in Restaurant Week gain exclusive access to each restaurant's specials for the week and will become eligible to win prizes.

Twenty Manhattan restaurants are participating, including:

- AJ's NY Pizzeria

- Bluestem Bistro

- Bourbon and Baker

- Coco Bolos

- Cox Bros. BBQ

- Guilty Biscuit

- Houlihan's

- Kite's Bar and Grill

- LABCO

- Liquid Art Winery & Estate

- Nico's Little Italy

- Manhattan Brewing Company

- Moe's Original BBQ

- Mr. K's Café and Bar

- Old Chicago Pizza and Taproom

- Pizza Ranch

- Powercat Sports Grill

- Rocking K's

- Tallgrass Taphouse

- Wine Dive

"Our community has so graciously supported local restaurants and other small businesses throughout this past year," said Evan Grier, Managing Partner of Bourbon and Baker. "Having so many restaurants participating in Restaurant Week this first year is a testament to how eager we are to provide great dining experiences to our community. I want to thank Konza United Way for facilitating this event, and I am confident this first year is a starting point for future events."

How Diners Can Sign Up Restaurant Week diners just need an event passport to gain exclusive access to the week's food and drink specials, in addition to being entered to win one of the signature prize packages.

Passports are $5 and may be ordered here. After ordering, event participants should proceed to a pick-up location and show their receipt. Pick-up locations include participating restaurants, the Konza United Way Office, 555 Poyntz Ave., Suite 269, or the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitor's Bureau, 501 Poyntz Ave. Passports will be available for pick up May 31.

Each time a diner eats out from June 11-20, the server will mark off the passport with a sticker. If ordering take out, a sticker will be provided as part of your order so you can mark the passport yourself. The more restaurants that are marked off, the more chances to win one of our signature prize packages.

At the end of Restaurant Week, passports should be dropped off at one of the pick-up locations, or a picture of the passport can be emailed to restaurantweek@konzaunitedway.org Passports must be turned in by Wednesday, June 30. Prize winners will be announced on July 2.
