GEARY COUNTY —A load of french fries went up in flames Tuesday in Geary County.
Just after 1:30a.m. Geary County Fire responded to a semi trailer fully engulfed in flames on Interstate 70 just east of Milford Lake Road, according to Geary County Rural Fire Chief Garry Berges.
The truck was a refrigerated unit carrying approximately 30,000 pounds of french fries. There were no injuries reported.
The eastbound I-70 off ramp will be closed until about noon while cleanup continues. Berges estimates the total loss at $80,000.
