MANHATTAN - The City of Manhattan Parks and Recreation Staff recently installed brand new picnic table and benches at the park shelter on the south side of City Park.
The new tables and benches are made with recycled tire rubber and plastic from Champlin Tire Recycling, Inc. in Concordia, Kansas.
The City of Manhattan received the tables and benches as part of the Waste Tire Recycling Grant from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment(KDHE).
The KDHE has awarded this grant to the Manhattan Parks and Recreation Department for the 3rd year, with other tables previously being installed at Northview Park, Warner Park and Twin Oaks Complex.
