MSG (RET) Ronald Jay "Mac" McNamara

MSG (RET) Ronald Jay "Mac" McNamara, 80, of Milford, KS, died on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, Kansas. Cremation will take place. A graveside with full military honors will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery.

On July 12th the good Lord decided you needed to rest, so he called you home. As for your family we are very saddened by this, but you are up in Heaven resting. Mac, Grampa Mac as he was called, was born on March 1st 1943. His parents were Janette K. and George J. McNamara. He married Aurie and they later divorced. They had two sons, Carl and Patrick. In 1986 he married Miss Jo, as she was known to all in Milford. They had a small farm and enjoyed raising beef cattle together along with taking care of many acres of land , raking, baling hay and going to the sale barn together.

He is survived by his two sons, Carl (Kristine) and Patrick both of Colorado, his two grandchildren from Carl and Kristine, Dylan and Peyton. He is also survived by the kids he gained in his marriage to Miss Jo - Sandra (Wayne) Tamashiro, Sheila (Jim) Hanson, Yvonne (Andrew) Snider, Robert (Mynda) Peters, Kelly Peters. As well as grandchildren Travis Tamashiro, Brenda (Emar) Diggs, Scott (Megan) Diggs, Timothy (Leann) Diggs, Justin (Desiree) Diggs, Matthew (Sara) Peters, Rebecca Peters, Lauren Peters, Emma Iacovella, Jacob (Liz) Snider, Jared (Izzy) Snider, Garrett (Tara) DeVoe, Chivaughnne (Charlie) Zorc. He also has many great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Josephine in November 2019 as well as his mother and father.

We will be forever grateful for Ian and Dennis for always being there to help out to do whatever needed to be done, like putting up the hay, etc., getting cows back home, sometimes unbeknown to Mac. Just everyday stuff especially during Covid.

He would tell you like it was. He didn’t sugarcoat anything. Mac, it’s your time to put the cowboy boots up and rest. So to everyone as he would say...”Take Care” “Be Safe”.
