SFC (RET) Earl Austin Roberts, 81, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Valley View Senior Life Center. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted 10 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2022 at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery. A visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Johnson Funeral Home. Memorial donations are suggested to be given to the Korean Baptist Church 700 W. 7th Street Junction City, KS 66441.
Earl was born March 23, 1940 in Madisonville, TN the son of Earl Martin and Reba Mildred (Self) Roberts.
Earl served in the United States Army having served three tours in Vietnam where he earned two purple hearts. After his retirement with the Army, he went to work for the Department of Public Works as a Civil Servant at Fort Riley until his retirement. He was avid bird hunter. Earl enjoyed watching and following the Kansas City Chiefs.
He married Chun Cha. She survives of the home in Junction City, KS.
Survivors include is wife Chun; two step-sons, Joe Leistner of Chapman, KS and Richard Leistner of Junction City, KS; one step-daughter, Laura West of Baltimore, MD; two brothers, Gary Roberts and Larry Roberts both of TN; four sisters, Audrey Lane, Connie Hamilton, Carolyn Patty and LaQuita Thomas; four step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
