Manhattan Public Works produces a winning snow plow crew

Manhattan Public Works Department personnel participated in the annual Snow Roadeo. This year there was approximately 45 competitors from 5 different entities around the state of Kansas. The four different competitions were Road Grader, Wheeled Loader, and Snowplow (team driven). Each area has up to 8 obstacles and the participant’s scores are unique to that piece of equipment and mimic some of the situations that they could encounter in the real world when fighting snow. Each competition has a preventative maintenance portion that is included in their score as well. The winners will travel to Loveland, Colorado to compete for their city or county. The City of Manhattan crew were the winners in the Snowplow division.
