Kathleen Kay Wickham

Kathleen Kay Wickham, 82, of Pawnee, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, August 27th at Muskogee Regional Medical Center in Muskogee, OK.  A graveside a service is at 11 a.m. this Saturday, October 1st 2022 at  Highland Cemetery  in Junction City, KS.

Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the Alzheimer's Association or St Paul's Lutheran of Junction City, KS.

Kathleen was born February 12th, 1940, in Junction City, KS. She was the first- born daughter and second child of Glenn Eugene and Myrtle Vinita (Koepcke) Kirkpatrick. She graduated from Junction City High School with the class of 1958. She had a fierce passion for horses and won many awards on the back of her beloved Dynamite. When she met her husband, Charles Ashby (senior) and moved to Virginia, she loaded Dynamite up into the bed of a pickup and took him with her.

She did many jobs throughout her life, but her number one job was taking care of her family and anyone else who needed it.
When life changed for her and she choose to divorce; she loaded her children and animals up and headed back to Kansas, where she met her 2d husband. Several years later they chose to move to Montana and begin a new adventure. They were married for 38 years till he chose a different path. That is when she moved to Oklahoma to live with her son, Charles Edward Ashby Jr. and his family. She brought many laughs and adventures to their home. She was loved and cared for the remainder of her time with us on earth.

She is survived by her older brother, Robert Wayne Kirkpatrick of TX; her baby sister Barbara Gfeller of Junction City, KS; her daughter Charlotte (Charry) Ashby; her sons Charles Edward Ashby Jr. and Eugene (Gene) Ashby. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Ronald J. Gfeller, her daughters-in-law Kimberly Ashby and Ann Wickersham; her nieces and nephews as well as their spouses Renee, Curtis, Robbie, Tracy, Sherri, Angela, and Tim; her grandchildren Raymond and his wife Jessica, Melissa, Kelsi and her husband Cesar, Mackenzie, Lillian and Easton,; and her great grandchildren Alycia, Gracie, Dominic and a new baby girl ready to be born soon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her younger brother, Hubert Kirkpatrick; her grandson in law, Isaac J Gould; her sisters in law Rachelle Kirkpatrick and Norma Jean Kirkpatrick; her niece and nephew Denise Chantay Marcus and Randall Kirkpatrick; and 2 great nephews Dylan and Christopher Marcus.
