COVID-19 Testing - Continued

The last Covid Corner addressed COVID-19 testing, and included information about cost (free!) and that the Pottawatomie County Health Department did not conduct testing. Since that information was submitted, additional information is now available.

Thursday, December 3, 2020, Governor Laura Kelly introduced the new #COVID19 Public Health Campaign: “Stop the Spread. It’s Up to Us, Kansas.” The campaign includes the launch of a new testing website, GoGetTested.com/Kansas, to quickly identify free testing locations across Kansas.

Kansans may visit the website, enter their zip code, and the system will identify the nearest testing facilities. Appointments are preferred, but walk-in options are available in many locations. Scheduling an appointment can be completed from the same website. The tests only require a name and phone number or e-mail address, no official ID is required. Currently the website is the only way to access this information. If a phone number or other contact information is provided in the future, it will be published in a COVID Corner.
