MANHATTAN - The Manhattan Fire Department offers CPR classes to the public throughout the year.

Options for taking a CPR class include signing up for a private group class, which requires a group of a minimum of 6 and maximum of 16 to secure your private class.

Individuals looking to get CPR certified can also sign up to participate in a public class, which will be held once enough people have signed up to hold the class.

"We offer both a heart saver CPR and first aid and heart saver is more geared towards the public. It teaches adult child and infant CPR and AED usage, as well as first aid and then we also offer a BLS, which is more for nurses, firefighters, EMTs; kind of the more advanced type CPR." says Manhattan Fire Department Captain Jared Elsasser.
