Steven Thomas Jacoutot

  Steven Thomas Jacoutot, 58, of Winfield, Kansas passed away on August 16, 2024, at the Kansas Veterans Home. Steve was born on May 25, 1966, to Thomas and Cynthia (Pfeiffer) Jacoutot at Kokomo, Indiana. He graduated from Haworth High School in the year 1984. After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, he served his country honorably.

During his military years, he served as Military Police. His passion for law enforcement would follow him during his whole life. After his first contract with the U.S. Army, he joined the Army National Guard while serving his community with the Topeka Police Department. During his employment with the Topeka Police Department, he had many roles such as their D.A.R.E officer and working with their Cadet Program. After hours from his law enforcement duties, he taught Tae Kwon Do to the local youth at the community rec center. He himself attained the rank of 3rd Degree Black Belt.

After retiring from the Topeka Police Department, he decided to continue his higher education by returning back to school. He received a Master's Degree in Management Criminal Justice from Colorado Tech University in 2010. This was one of his proudest achievements.

Steve's family, friends, and co-workers will remember his jokes, smiles, and that infectious high pitch laugh that he had. He was the Super Bowl party host, always inviting his friends and family. He loved to host and doing so was his way of showing his love to the ones he cared about. Steven was an eternal optimist, one of his famous saying was, "It's just another day in paradise". Based on his faith, he is now finally right.Steven is survived by his loving mother, Cynthia; two sisters, Rebecca (Brian) Fye of Indiana and Suzanne (Graham) Roe of Indiana; one aunt, Cindy (Greg) Baker; one uncle, John Pfeiffer and one Godson, George Scharff. He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Jacoutot; four uncles Bob Jacoutot, Jerry Pfeiffer, Dennis Pfeiffer, and Harvey Pfeiffer.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, cremation will follow. A graveside service will take place on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery with full military honors. If you wish to attend the graveside service, please arrive at the Johnson & Mass-Hinitt Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. for a funeral procession to Kansas Veterans' Cemetery.
