KDOT to host K-18/I-70 groundbreaking celebration

The Kansas Department of Transportation has announced that they will host a groundbreaking event to highlight the beginning of the I-70/K-18 interchange improvement project in Geary County. It will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Geary County Fire Station Four at 11096 Barr Road.

 Speakers will include:

  1. KDOT Secretary Calvin Reed
  2. Geary County Commissioner Keith Ascher
  3. Kansas Highway Patrol Lt. Scott Proffitt

 The I-70/K-18 $27.5 million interchange project will update the existing interchange, reconfigure the Boller Road intersection and construct a new flyover bridge as well as a 2-mile auxiliary lane on eastbound I-70.
