City of Manhattan

Starting Monday, September 22, the second phase of Anderson Avenue water, street, and stormwater improvements will begin, which will expand the existing construction zone east to the intersection with Elling and Oakdale drives.

While this section will not be fully closed, it will continue to have shifting lane closures and many residential intersections will be closed. Through traffic may prefer to use other east-west arterials such as Claflin Road, Fort Riley Boulevard, and Kimball Avenue. An official detour is Sunset Avenue to Claflin to Seth Child Road.

Additional residential streets that will not be able to access Anderson during this phase are:

  1. Bellehaven Road
  2. Elling Drive
  3. Midland Avenue
  4. Oakdale Drive

Please drive safely in this area, follow signage and look out for construction workers!

Expect moderate to heavy traffic and some delays on Anderson Avenue, Canfield Drive, Timberlane Drive, Wildwood Lane, Willard Place, and Woodland Street. The estimate is at least 4.5 months to complete this phase, depending on weather.
