Ann Worley, 81 of Clay Center, died on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at the Clay Center Presbyterian Manor. She was born on October 18, 1942 in Cloud County, Kansas, the daughter of John A.H. and Marie C. (Wehking) Gunter.
She grew up in Cloud County and attended Carmel and Limestone Country Schools and graduated from Miltonvale High School in 1960. Ann worked as a babysitter for a short time. She married Joe Worley on October 6, 1963 and he preceded her in death on September 23, 2015. Ann was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Clay Center where she was a volunteer for several committees. She was also a member of several bowling leagues for many years. She is also preceded in death by her parents; 6 sisters and brothers in-law, Freda and Ezra Koerber, Loretta and Everett Price, June and Lester Herdt, Louise and Dean Liby, Minnie and Lester Beikmann,and Darylene and Jack Wilder; brothers in-law, Carl Affolter and Robert Worley; sister in-law, Robin Rouse and her beloved cats, Sunshine, Apollo and Garfield.
She is survived by her sister, Elsie Affolter of Morganville, Kansas; numerous nieces and nephews; brother in-law Steve and Carol Worley and sisters in-law, Vicki and Doug Marshall and Patti and Steve Curtiss.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Clay Center, Kansas.
Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center, Kansas.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center, Kansas.
Memorials may be made to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
