Manhattan woman jailed after crash during police chase

RILEY COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Manhattan woman on multiple allegations after an arrest following a police chase.

Just after 3:30p.m. Wednesday, police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Sarah White, 18, of Manhattan in the 2700 block of Kimball Avenue, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report.

After officers initiated their lights and sirens, White accelerated eastbound passing cars on Kimball Avenue and ran a stop light at the intersection of Kimball and College Avenues.

As she attempted to turn left at the intersection, the car skidded off the road and hit a concrete and limestone pillar.

Officers arrested White  on requested charges of fleeing and eluding law enforcement and  for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana after officers found marijuana and paraphernalia in her car. S

he was issued a total bond of $6,000 and is no longer confined at the time of this report.

A passenger of the car, Alexis Reich, 18, also of Manhattan was issued a notice to appear in court for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
