Fort Riley officials have announced that the Post will operate on a two hour delay on Wed., February 17 due to the extreme cold. Additionally, some services will be reduced throughout the day based on heat or water problems inside certain facilities.
In an effort to reduce power load on Fort Riley (and additional potential planned power outages), some installation offices are reducing their workforce footprint through telework Wednesday. Those sections include Public Affairs Office; Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security headquarters and operations; Resource Management Office; Garrison Safety Office; Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation headquarters, Plans, Analysis Integration Office; Army Community Service; Garrison Command group; Directorate of Emergency Services headquarters; Directorate of Public Works work management shop, environmental, and business operations divisions; Directorate of Human Resources Leader and Workforce Development, Casualty Office, Admin Services, Transition Assistance Program (TAP); Religious Support Office; Civilian Personnel Advisory Center; and Network Enterprise Center.
Due to infrastructure concerns within In-processing, the following services will be available but in limited capacity, operating with reduced personnel: ID Cards, In-processing, Reassignments, Separations, Retirements, Postal Unit Pickup, Passports, Personal Property, PortCall and Finance.
The Grant Access Control Point on the north side of Junction City will remain closed, Feb. 17. There is no ETA for its reopening. Weather damage may delay its reopening. The Bldg 206 Coffee Shop is closed due to infrastructure (no water).
Fort Riley Family and Morale Welfare and Recreation fitness centers open at 7 a.m.
All Fort Riley Child & Youth Services programs, including child development and School Age centers, open at 8 a.m.
Most installation facilities open two hours later than their normal operating hours.
The Public Works Service Order Desk, Dining Facilities, Fort Riley Commissary, and Post Exchange facilities open as scheduled.
Irwin Army Community Hospital will conduct normal operations; COVID testing operations continue as scheduled. Patients who feel conditions are unsafe for travel may reschedule appointments by contacting (785) 239-DOCS.
