Faye Lucille Will, 84, La Crosse, Kansas, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Rush County Memorial Hospital Intermediate Swing Bed, La Crosse, Kansas.
Faye was born August 25, 1937, in Gilead, Nebraska, the daughter of William Adolf and Lucille Viola (Borovicka) Peperkorn. She was a resident of Rush County, Kansas, for 50+ years, moving from Colorado. A 1955 graduate of Hebron High School, Hebron, Nebraska. Faye was a bank teller for Farmers Bank & Trust, formerly The Home State Bank, La Crosse, Kansas, for 30+ years before her retirement.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Great Bend, Kansas; and attended services at Hope Lutheran Church, Rush Center, Kansas, and First Lutheran Church, La Crosse, Kansas.
The sun and moon in her life were her son and daughter, Steve and Denise, her four grandchildren, and her 7 ½ great grandchildren.
Faye enjoyed and spent many hours watching her grandchildren’s sporting events. She also enjoyed quilting.
In 1957, she married Don Richardson at Hebron, Nebraska. They were blessed with two children, Steve and Denise.
She later married Reverend Kenneth J. Will on June 9, 1967, at Denver, Colorado. He preceded her in death March 16, 2016.
Survivors include: one son, Steve Richardson, La Crosse, Kansas; one daughter, Denise Morrison (Steve), Hoisington, Kansas; four grandchildren, Casey Morrison (Nichole), Albert, Kansas, Carla Schartz (Lance), Andover, Kansas, Abigail Jonas (Shane), Hoisington, Kansas, and Stephanie Koochel (Ethan), Manhattan, Kansas; seven great grandchildren with an eighth on the way; and one sister, Janice Wulfkeotter (Darold), Olathe, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, William “Billy” Peperkorn, and his wife, Lucille; an infant brother, Fredrick Peperkorn; and one sister, Norma Corliss, and her husband, Raymond.
Per Faye’s wishes, the family has chosen cremation.
A graveside memorial service will be Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at the La Crosse City Cemetery, La Crosse, Kansas. Inurnment will be in the La Crosse City Cemetery, La Crosse, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials to A Second Chance, La Crosse, Kansas, or the Rush County Food Bank.
