Anna Danielle Armendariz, 24, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022, while hiking in the Ozark National Park, Newton County, Arkansas. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life was held on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Lonoke, Arkansas. A Memorial Service will be held in Flint, Texas, on Saturday, March 25, 2023. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a local animal shelter of the donor’s choice.
Anna was born on June 18, 1998, in Odesa, Ukraine. While at the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Orphanage, Daniel and Leigh Ann Armendariz had the honor of adopting Anna at the age of 3.5 years. She grew up in North Texas and graduated from L.D. Bell High School, Hurst, Texas, in 2016.
She never met a stranger and was always on the side of the underdog. Anna loved life despite its challenges, oftentimes overcoming them with her contagious smile. She was passionate about animals, especially dogs and cats. After serving in the United States Army, Anna moved to Hickory Plains, Arkansas. It was there, she was able to enjoy farm life with animals and the wonderful outdoors she so dearly loved.
Anna is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Carolyn Cunningham.
Survivors include her parents, Daniel (Shana Harrison) Armendariz of Hurst, TX, and Leigh Ann (James) Stamper of Manhattan, KS; her brother, Joshua Craig (Kaice Allen) Armendariz of Manhattan, KS; her grandparents, Harold Cunningham of Flint, TX, Pablo (Julieta) Armendariz of Wamego, KS, Don (Rita) Korte of El Dorado, KS, and Carter (Debbye) Harrison of Carlisle, AR; and numerous other family and friends.
