Planning board will consider new substation

The next meeting of the Manhattan Urban Area Planning Board will be Monday, November 1, at 7 p.m. in the City Commission Room at City Hall, 1101 Poyntz Avenue.  

Included on the agenda is: A public hearing to consider a special use permit to establish and operate an electrical substation, generally located at the northeast corner of Tuttle Creek Boulevard and Walters Drive. 

Also, a public hearing to consider repealing the Riley County Subdivision Regulations and Riley County Zoning Regulations, including Floodplain Regulations, in their entirety, and replacing said documents with a single consolidated document entitled “Riley County Land Development Regulations” and adopting the “Driveway Standards in the Unincorporated Area of Riley County, Kansas.” The Board will hear a staff report for the proposal.

Also, A public hearing to consider ADOPTION of a new Manhattan Development Code (MDC) containing zoning and subdivision regulations and zoning map, replacing, in their entirety, the existing Manhattan Zoning Regulations and Zoning Map, and the Manhattan Urban Area Subdivision Regulations.
