USD 383 Manhattan - Ogden has announced via social media a new school starting date for the 2020-2021 academic year.
The USD 383 Board of Education voted Friday day (July 24) to revise the calendar for the 2020/2021 school year. Students will start on August 26 and end on May 14. The original starting date had been Aug. 12.
The revised academic calendar will be available on our website early next week.
Changes are occurring in some district's schedules due to increases in positive COVID-19 cases across Kansas.
Governor Kelly had planned to issue an executive order requiring schools to begin on Sept.9 but when that plan was not affirmed by the State Board of Education individual districts were left to make their own decisions on the start of the school year.
