Shirley Raymond, 80, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on January 28, 2024, while living in the Kelly House of Topeka.
Shirley married a military man, this gave her an opportunity to travel around the country until their retirement in 1980. After retirement, they both decided to move back to Junction City, Kansas to settle down. Once back in Junction City, Shirley found work at Fort Riley as a personal file clerk, then a pack, and a lead pack in benefits. She stayed in that position until retirement. In her retirement years, she found joy in reading books, watching the theatre, and making ceramics.
She is survived by her three loving sons, Donald, Paul, and Tracy, and one grandson, Parker Raymond.She was preceded by Norma Ozman, Lloyd Draper, Maxine Peterson, Gladys Hicks, and Geraldine Greenwell.
A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, February 8, 2024, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home. A funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, February 11, 2024, 12:00 p.m. at the Episcopal Church -The Covenant, 314 N Adams St, Junction City, KS 66441 followed by a graveside service at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's.
